Departing education minister takes blocks off learning with Hwb network and 'Digital Wales'
Wales’ ambitious drive to transform learning and teaching across all its schools and colleges was given a fitting celebration at the National Digital Learning Event and Awards at Cardiff City Stadium.
Leighton Andrews AM, the then Welsh minister for education and lifelong learning (since replaced by Huw Lewis AM), along with the four keynote speakers – Ewan McIntosh, Tim Rylands, Steve Wheeler and Russell Prue – gave an unambiguous message to teachers, learners and their families: the new national Hwb digital network is being driven by learning and teaching and not by technology. And the time has come to give more trust to young people so that they play a fuller part in their education.
